Cavan-Monaghan Education & Training Board Culinary Skills course - Tuesday and Friday mornings in The Bridge Street Centre - 8 weeks from 1st May to 23rd June

The overall aim of the programme is to equip the learner with the knowledge, skills and competence to work under direction in a professional kitchen and or to progress to further education and training.


To provide a programme of learning that is general in nature and flexible in structure so that the learner has the maximum opportunity to improve his/her communication, numerical, ICT and planning skills while participating in the programme.

To facilitate the learner to explore new vocational areas within the Culinary Skills area with a view to up-skilling, developing new skills and exploring concepts and subjects that may interest the learner in future programmes or employment


  • Education: No specific requirements.
  • Aptitude: Learners must have a good standard of written and spoken English. Although not essential lower Second Level education is advisable.
  • Previous Experience: No previous experience required although learners should have a genuine interest in food.
